The Palencia Pet Clinic
The owners of the Palencia Pet Clinic contacted me when they were in the process of designing their new 10,000 sq foot state-of-the-art pet clinic in Palencia.
We worked together with the architect and contractor to help design a clinic that would feel more like a home than a medical office, both inside and out.
The hospitality area invites guests to help themselves.
Wood look tile floor, large rustic wood beams and painted tongue and groove ceilings, wainscoting and vintage style light fixtures created a modern farmhouse feel.
Built-in cushioned benches provide more seating and storage.
Artist's were commissioned to illustrate clients' pets and local artist, Wendy Tatter's work, is featured in the lobby.
The ADA compliant restrooms are wallpapered and offer touchless hand soap and seagrasss baskets of hand towels.
The Store features a faux whitewashed fireplace, custom, rustic display cabinetry and built-in shelving. The barn lights give it a country store feel.
The Exam Rooms
With wainscoting, whitewashed tongue and groove ceilings, vintage style school house lights, custom cabinets, comfortable wooden benches, fun pillows, and artwork, each of the 6 exam rooms is distinctive. Dutch doors open to the "back of the house."
The "Back of the House"
The back of the house is where the operating rooms, medicines, break room and laundry are.
The exterior of the building has deep porches, potted plants, ceiling fans, whitewashed herringbone brick floors and wood ceilings. The white brick siding is accented with pale bluegreen shutters, barn lights and iron lanterns.
A porch swing and whitewashed wicker rockers encourage lounging outdoors.
We were so lucky to find Jody to help us with our first commercial building project. Our project was a brand new veterinary hospital. We wanted it to feel like a home and not like a commercial space. Jody helped us create a beautiful but still functional space. We are so incredibly proud of our new space and get tons of compliments every day on how beautiful it is. Working with Jody was amazing! She was very responsive and helped me stay calm during stressful parts of the project. When I felt overwhelmed all I had to do was email Jody and she would start working right away checking things off our to do list. Jody had so many wonderful ideas for our space that I never could have thought of on my own. She also had lots of wonderful people to recommend to help with installs - example wallpaper, custom shelves, etc. We will definitely hire Jody again for any other projects we do in the future.
