An Artist's Retreat in Palm Coast
A Home and Studio

Retired from a career in the fashion industry in California, Monica wanted her home to be a place to pursue her love of painting and clothing and be an inviting place for guests. Her distinctive modern Parisian style integrates contemporary furniture with traditional, classic elements.

"Jody Marcil has a beautiful sense of style and design. She was indispensable  during the renovation of the house I bought in Palm Coast, Florida. She is attentive to your design dreams, enhancing and encouraging the vision you have for your perfect home."

The Road to Chic

Monica loved the arches and high ceiling of the house and its spacious layout. What it needed was a clean, open, airy new look.

We replaced the great room area flooring with large format Calcutta Gold tile and painted the walls White Gallery throughout, which quickly transformed the space and light, highlighting the openness and sculptural quality of the home.

The great room before

Monica's collection of vintage fabric made the perfect pillows to compliment the velvet sectional and accent chair. Framed wallpaper panels add a bold wall statement.

Traditional dining areas were transformed into intimate lounges. Mirrors reflect the greenery outdoors, bringing it inside. The mixture of new and vintage furnishings adds to the timeless feel.

Creative Spaces

Flooded with natural light, a room off of the entry became a perfect painting studio.

By removing the closet, a  spare bedroom became a luxurious  sewing room.

The kitchen was given a major overhaul with dramatic quartz countertops and modern slab doors and pulls. The cabinets to the ceiling and stacked mini subway tile made for a dramatic centerpiece for the great room.

Monica's Suite

Rustic wide plank flooring grounds the primary bedroom suite. The simple furnishings serve the serene feel of this space.

The bathroom got a major renovation. We changed the glass block for a window with a view of the woods, and added a double door entry with vintage glass knobs.

The adjacent sitting room looks out upon nature and opens to the outdoor patio.

The pineapple marble floor border enhances the old-world luxury. And, as throughout the house, the details make make it especially personal.
